AKT3, or v-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog 3, is a member of the protein kinase B (PKB) family and encodes a 479 amino acid protein. It is found on chromosome 1q44. A common occurrence in 1q44 deletion syndrome patients with dysmorphic traits, intellectual impairment, and microcephaly is this gene.
