Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Service

Introduction

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a revolutionary medical imaging technique that has transformed the landscape of radiology and medical diagnostics. Unlike traditional imaging methods, MRI utilizes strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate detailed images of the body's internal structures without the need for ionizing radiation. This makes it a safer alternative to other imaging techniques like X-rays and CT scans.

Applications

MRI is a versatile tool with a wide range of applications. It is extensively used in hospitals and clinics for medical diagnosis, staging, and disease follow-up. MRI provides superior contrast for imaging soft tissues, making it particularly useful for visualizing organs such as the brain, liver, and heart. Moreover, its ability to capture detailed spatial images, track neuronal tracts, and monitor blood flow has expanded its utility in biomedical research.

Sample Requirements

  • For H spectrum samples, at least 5mg is required, C spectrum and other heteroatom spectrum samples require at least 25mg. For larger molecular weight samples, please increase the sample amount accordingly.
  • Magnetic samples are not accepted. Please specify if the sample has strong conductivity.
  • If the sample is liquid, please indicate whether it is pure or a solution and provide the solvent.
  • If the deuterated reagent is deuterated chloroform, please do not dissolve it yourself.
  • Samples containing inorganic salts cannot be tested.
  • Please use a 1.5mL centrifuge tube for the sample. Do not use self-sealing bags, as excessive sample loss may render it untestable.
  • If there are any questions about the data, please provide feedback within 7 days; samples will be processed after 7 days.

Service Process

1. Discuss the Project with the Customer and Sign the Project Contract: Before initiating the imaging process, it's imperative to understand the client's requirements and set clear expectations. The specifics of the experimental sample requirements are clarified with the client.

2. Make an Advance Payment and Commence the Experiment: The experimental fee is determined based on the number of samples, machine hours used, and the complexity of the experiment. If consumables provided by the center, such as NMR tubes, deuterated reagents, anesthetic samples, etc., are used, those costs are calculated separately. Upon receipt of the samples and the advance payment, Creative Biolabs schedules the specific experimenters and experiment timings. During the experiment, if any questions arise, the experimenter should promptly contact the applicant to adjust the experimental plan to achieve the desired experimental objectives. The analysis of experimental spectra and data is the responsibility of the applicant.

3. Sending of Test Report: After the conclusion of the experiment, the applicant is promptly informed of the preliminary experimental results, and the test fee is calculated. Once the test fee is received, Creative Biolabs sends the official experimental spectra and original data and mails the test fee invoice. Creative Biolabs archives the testing services and related experimental data for record-keeping.

FAQs

Q1. How to choose deuterated reagents?

A: Choose based on solubility. Dissolve the sample as much as possible. If you're unsure about the solubility, you can first try with non-deuterated reagents.

Q2. How to determine the delay time in the spectrum?

A: The testing time can only be adjusted based on actual test results, and it cannot be halted midway. Generally, there are references in the literature, otherwise, you would have to choose based on experience.
