Biocytin Dye is a conjugate of dye and biotin with an aldehyde-fixable primary amine. It is a cell-impermeant, fixable polar tracer. Polar tracers are frequently employed to study membrane permeability, transport through gap junctions, and cell uptake during pinocytosis, as well as cell-cell and cell-liposome fusion.
